The Eastport Oyster Knife
Designed for the quiet ritual of opening oysters at the water’s edge, The Eastport Oyster Knife is a compact tool with unmistakable presence. Purpose-built, refined, and unapologetically maritime, it reflects the same principles that define every Annapolis Knife Company piece: honest materials, thoughtful design, and enduring utility.
The short, stout blade is crafted from CPM MagnaCut steel, chosen for its exceptional corrosion resistance, toughness, and edge stability—qualities essential in a salt-rich environment. At 2.5 inches, the blade provides precise control and confident leverage, allowing the shell to yield cleanly and predictably.
The handle is shaped from reclaimed nautical teak, a hardwood long trusted in marine applications for its natural resistance to moisture and decay. Warm in the hand and subtly textured by its previous life on the water, the teak is secured with solid brass rivets, adding strength, balance, and a restrained nautical accent.
At 6 inches overall, with a 1.5-inch wide handle, The Severn sits comfortably in the palm, offering stability without bulk. It is equally at home on a dockside table, a sailboat galley, or a kitchen counter—wherever oysters are opened with intention.
Like all AKC knives, The Severn is designed not to shout, but to endure—an essential tool for those who appreciate craftsmanship, coastal heritage, and the simple pleasure of doing things well.
